Brief personal information: She married Edmund J. Welu at Holy Ghost Church on June 10, 1936. He died November 14, 1948. She graduated from the former I C Academy in 1926. She was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Parish, Senior Citizens and Rosary Society. Before her marriage she worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. Later she worked as a clerk at Schroeder's Grocery Store and Sweetheart Bakery. Then for 30 years she was a teller and loan officer at the Holy Ghost Parish Credit Union, retiring at age 90. She especially loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, canning, playing cards, playing piano, crocheting, sewing and walking.
Deceased spouse and year of death: Edmund J. Welu on November 14, 1948.
Survivors: 2 Daughters: Barbara Barton of Dubuque.
Linda (David) Washburn of Montfort, Wisconsin.
1 Son: Edmund J. (Elaine) Welu of Dubuque.
1 Sister-in-law: Marion Schueller of Dubuque.

Husband. 6 Sisters: Josephine Kretz on Dec. 13, 1974, Pauline Hingtgen on Oct. 28, 1979, Clara Schmitt on March 18, 1984, Marie Wagner on Oct. 17, 1994, Estelle Clute on May 14, 1996 and Florence Helmer on April 14, 1999. 3 Brothers: Bernard Schueller on Sept. 22, 1948, Alfred Schueller on Aug. 20, 1982 and Dr. Charles J. Schueller on July 11, 2000.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Hospice of Dubuque or Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
