Darlene C. Jansen, age 73, of 13135 Sherrill Rd., Dubuque, at 7:10 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center Emergency Room as the result of a sudden illness.
Services will be held Friday at St. Peter and Paul Church at Sherrill at 10:00 am
Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Sherrill
Friends may call from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Behr's, 1491 Main Street, where the Parish Wake Service will be said at Behr's on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
Darlene was born Dec. 6, 1934 in Holy Cross, Iowa, daughter of Leo and Theresa Catherine (Diesburg) Meyer.
Darlene married Norman L. Jansen on Oct. 21, 1961 at Holy Ghost Church in Dubuque. He preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 1994. Darlene was formerly employed at General Dry Battery and then at
the Dubuque Packing Company/ FDL/ Farmland for 42 years until her retirement.
Darlene was a member of St. Peter and Paul Parish and Rosary Society. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and crafts. She was also a long time volunteer at Camp Albrecht Acres in Sherrill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother: Tony (Shirley) Meyer.
Memorials may be given to Camp Albrecht Acres or the Sherrill Volunteer Fire Department.
The family wishes to thank the Sherrill Ambulance and the Mercy Medical Center ER nurses and staff for their care and concern for Darlene and the family.
