Bible Emblem

Ronald B. Bedtka, age 63, of Dubuque, Iowa, was called home peacefully at 2:33 p.m., on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, surrounded by his loving family. To honor Ron's life, funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, with Pastor Edward Mast officiating. To celebrate Ron's life, family and friends may visit from 2:00 p.m., until the time of services at 5:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 22, 2017.

Ron was born on July 24, 1953, in Dubuque, Iowa, of Bernard and Caroline (Kahn) Bedtka.

Ron grew up in Dubuque and learned the value of faith and family from a very young age. He would invest his working years at Adams Company and John Deere Dubuque Works, but it was the end of the day which brought Ron true joy. His devotion to his Creator and Savior were continually on display. If Ron wasn't studying his bible, or listening to the most recent weekly sermon, you could be sure to find him spreading his faith, in both words and actions, and sharing the Good News with anybody who would listen. A merely mortal soul, as we all are, but a consummate Christian till the end. Ron would also discover that a very close 2nd to his walk with the Lord, was the time he would get to spend with his family and friends. Any opportunity to surround himself with those he loved and adored was always a moment to be treasured. Sadly, Ron has finished his earthly journey today and must leave us with only his memories and lessons to retain. But we have no doubt that he is resting peacefully in his Heavenly Estate, and we have all been given the chance to accept the grace necessary to see him again.

Those left to cherish Ron's memory include

his children,
Jer (Dana) Bedtka, LaMotte, IA,
Corey Bedtka, Dubuque, IA,
Rachel (Chris) Weber, East Dubuque, IL,
Jake (Carissa) Bedtka, West Branch, IA
and Tim (Verona) Bedtka, Dubuque, IA;

and Laura (Mike) Frommelt, Baldwin, IA;

A Ronald B. Bedtka memorial fund has been established, which will be distributed among his favorite charities.

Ron's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the University of Iowa, and ManorCare, for all of their kind, caring and professional care of Ron and his family.
