Roger was born on February 25, 1949, in Dubuque, son of Leo and Bessie (Graham) Donovan.

Since the day Roger was lovingly delivered into the hands of his earthly family in 1949, he has definitely positively impacted all whom would come into contact with him. His never failing warmth, and innocent outlook on the world, were contagious and would surely change your perspective on the important things in life without any effort on Roger's part. He earnestly devoted his working hours within the creative walls of the ARC workshop. Never one to complain, find fault, or look for an excuse; Roger would put his skills to good use and discover true pride in all of his accomplishments. Our hearts break today at the thought of our dear Roger being called home suddenly, but we know that he now rests in the comforting arms of his Savior, and is absolutely enjoying his newly found state of eternal perfection. Job well done Roger; thank you for all of the joy you so effortlessly shared with the world and we will carry the memories you leave behind securely in our hearts and minds until we meet again.

Those left to cherish Roger's memory include

his loving siblings,
Jeanette Fondell, Dubuque, IA,
Doris (Kenny) Wiederholt, Hazel Green, WI
and Rita (Tom) Kurt, Bernard, IA;

his sister-in-law,
Eileen Donovan, Dubuque, IA;

and his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends at Sunnycrest.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Donovan; and a brother-in-law, John Fondell.

A Roger J. Donovan memorial fund has been established, which will be distributed among Roger's favorite charities.

The family would like to thank Roger's friends, along with the nurses and staff at Sunnycrest, ARC, and Hospice of Dubuque, for all of their wonderful care and support of Roger, and his family.
