Dove Emblem

Richard C. Voss, age 72, of Tiffin, Iowa, and formerly of Dubuque, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017, at home. To honor Richard's life, funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, November 6, 2017, at St. Patrick's Church, 1425 Iowa Street, with Msgr. Thomas E. Toale officiating. To celebrate Richard's life, family and friends may visit from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m., on Monday, November 6, 2017, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Richard was born on November 8, 1944, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Donald and Irene (Mentz) Voss.

Richard was united in marriage to the love of his life, Veronica Lampe, on July 10, 1972, at St. Patrick's Church in Dubuque. They were absolutely blessed to have been given the opportunity to spend 44 wonderful years together before she was called home ahead of him on April 17, 2017. Richard was a very active and faithful member of St. Mary's Church, and generously shared his musical talents as an organist for the choir for over 25 years. In his free time, Richard could often be found out in his perfectly manicured lawn tending to his abundantly colorful flower gardens, all while making sure that each and every weed had been properly eradicated with meticulous precision. His greatest joy in this world however, was the precious time he spent with his beautiful bride, Veronica. The two of them were inseparable, and enjoyed countless adventures together while traveling the world throughout the years. The adorably devoted couple also found great joy in some of the more simple pleasures in life also. A fun evening of babysitting for family, or even a few hands and a little fellowship around the card table could easily fulfill their day. We are deeply saddened today at the loss of such a uniquely kind-hearted and gracious man; but are surely at peace with the fact that Richard's broken heart has finally been mended now and that he and Veronica are together again while finally beginning their eternal journey in a state of perfect love, never to be separated again!

Those left to cherish Richard's memory include

numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved wife, Veronica Voss.

A Richard C. Voss memorial fund has been established, which will be distributed among his favorite charities.
