Love Emblem

Madonna Rae "Donna" Hentrich, age 70, of Dubuque, was called home peacefully at 10:28 p.m., on Friday, July 28, 2017, at Sunnycrest Manor, surrounded by her loving family. To honor Donna's life, funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, August 4, 2017, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, with Deacon John Stierman officiating. To celebrate Donna's life, family and friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Behr Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Donna was born on August 31, 1946, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Raymond and Shirley (Gable) Shireman.

Donna was proud to have grown up right here in God's country. She would eventually meet her true love, Terry Hentrich, and the two would be united in marriage on April 29, 1967. The couple was blessed with 17 years together, and 4 wonderful children, before Terry was called home ahead of her on May 23, 1984. Donna was a diligent and hard worker who earnestly used her talents as an office secretary; first with Overhead Door in Rockford, then onto Farmers Insurance, H&R Block, Lane Bryant, before finally retiring from Swiss Colony. Donna's faith was very important to her and was clearly visible through her long-time, and faithful membership to Sacred Heart Church. She also enjoyed gathering in fellowship around the card table, or with some dice in her hands, with her countless friends at Sunnycrest and Ennoble Manor over the past years. Donna was naturally gifted and quite artistic; patiently creating unique crafts throughout her days, not to mention her favorite hobby of painting on velvet, which were joyfully found to be prize worthy by the Dubuque County Fair judges. Donna has surely left an absolutely positive imprint on the world she has journeyed through over these last 70 years. The memories of this beautiful soul which remain are abundant, and will truly help to ease the pain and sorrow which quickly arrived due to her sudden absence. Thankfully, all who knew and loved Donna will be able to treasure the legacy of her loving friendship for now, and rejoice, again one day, when we are all reunited forever on her eternal dance floor with the greatest live music ever playing behind us.

Those left to cherish Donna's memory include

Tammie (Tim) Vondran, Palm Bay, FL,
Pamela (Jeff) Heiderscheit, Peosta, IA,
Dawn Pollock, Dubuque, IA
Robert Hentrich, Dubuque, IA;

6 grandchildren,
Ashley, Austin, Cadalina, Abby, Holly and Aubrey;

and 3 great-grandchildren,
Giavonna, Kody and Ethan.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Terry Hentrich; and 3 brothers in infancy.

A Madonna Rae "Donna" Hentrich memorial fund has been established, which will be distributed among her favorite charities.

Donna's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Sunnycrest, and Hospice of Dubuque, for all of their professional and loving care of Donna, and her family.
