Love Emblem

Judy C. Hentges, age 77, of Dubuque, was called home peacefully at 7:18 p.m., on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at her home. To honor Judy's life, funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, with Rick Mihm officiating. To celebrate Judy's life, family and friends may visit from 3:00 p.m., until the time of services at 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Behr Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Judy was born on September 19, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Kermit and Elnora (Randall) Mitchell.

Judy was united in marriage to Allen Hentges on July 5, 1958. Sadly, he was called home ahead of her in 1971, after only 13 years together. Judy was fortunate enough to find love, once again, and was united in marriage to Ronald "Butch" Hentges, on April 29, 1972, at Faith United Methodist Church. They were blessed with 36 years together before he was also called home ahead of her on May 6, 2008. Judy was born with a strong work ethic and would begin her working career by investing over 20 years in the produce department at Randall's. She next reached for her dream of owning and operating her own flower shop, H & H Florist, which brought Judy years of fruitful satisfaction until she finally began her last working stint with Hills & Dales, where she permanently retired from in 2006. In her free-time, Judy loved spending time with her family, especially her great-granddaughter, Sophia; who is quite possibly the only person on the planet she would even consider sharing her Gremlins with. When she wasn't spending time with family and friends, you could usually discover Judy trying her luck sitting at the quarter slots and waiting patiently for the lights and bells to signal another success. We are beyond sad today with the sudden loss of Judy from our lives. Her loving, kind and uniquely generous soul has surely left a void we will not be able to replace while we remain here; but we are definitely relieved to know that she is finally reunited with all of her family who've been called home ahead of her. Thank you Judy for all the beautiful love, joy and memories you leave behind!

Those left to cherish Judy's memory include

A Judy C. Hentges memorial fund has been established, which will be distributed among her favorite charities.
