Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, is in charge of arrangements.

Clara was born on October 1, 1927, in Sterling, IL, daughter of Leroy Boyer and Phoebe (McGee) Boyer Holdren.

Sadly, Clara's mother was called home at a very young age and Clara would quickly learn the importance of family, and love for others, almost immediately within the experience of her earthly journey. Thankfully, Clara was lovingly raised by her grandma, Bernice McGee, until she eventually met her soul-mate, Robert K. Crane. The cute couple was blessed with 32 wonderful years of marriage, and 4 children, before he was also called home ahead of her much too soon. Clara would joyfully share her love and care for others through her mission field of nursing. She devoted over 20 years of her time and talents as a Licensed Practical Nurse; working not only at the Dixon State Mental Hospital, but also in several nursing homes and private homes over the years. Clara's faith was always a priority in her life and she was very proud to be a loyal and longtime member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. In her free-time, Clara was quite comfortable to curl up in a blanket with a good book in hand, or maybe even venture out in search of the next perfect angel to add to her growing collection. There is no denying that Clara's 90 years here have been full of both joy and sorrow at times. Thankfully, she taught us to both persevere through the trials, and remember to savor the precious moments when they arrive. We're truly sad that we've lost our amazing mother, grandmother and friend today, but we are also glad that she is finally going to be reunited with all of her family who've gone to their eternal home already. God bless you Clara and thank you very much for the love and the lessons you leave behind!

Those left to cherish Clara's memory include

and Carmen Burds, Dubuque, IA;
