Heart Emblem

Carol M. Pins, age 76, of Dubuque Iowa, was called home peacefully at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. To honor Carol's life, funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, with Rev. Charles Layton officiating. To celebrate Carol's life, family and friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., on Monday, March 27, 2017, at Behr Funeral Home. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.

Carol was born on June 19, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Robert E. and Helen M. (Thielen) Wright.

Carol was a proud lifelong resident of Dubuque, who would earnestly devote 28 years of her working career as a dispatcher at Flexsteel Industries. Carol eventually met the love of her life, Gerald Pins, and the couple was united in marriage on September 10,1983. Their union would be blessed with 33 wonderful years together. She was a very social woman who devoted countless hours to several of her favorite organizations; including St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Union Local #1861 and the Eagles Club. She also found great joy in the simple things in life; such as preparing a delicious meal over the stove, crocheting and knitting her latest beautiful creations to share with family and friends, or even keeping her talented fingers moving in rhythm to the hum of her sewing machine. But, as much joy as these activities manifested in Carol, none could compare to the complete satisfaction she would discover in the valuable time she would get to spend with her family. Whether caring for her home, an honest heart to heart talk with a child, or an afternoon watching her grandchildren embrace the day; Carol knew that the most precious moments in life were truly found with her loved ones by her side. Sadly, Carol's earthly journey has come to its conclusion today, but thankfully, her love, lessons and memories will surely continue to thrive in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved her. And as our faith generously comforts us, we find peace in knowing that her physical struggles have finally ceased and she in now enjoying her state of eternal perfection as she is once again reunited with her family who've been called home ahead of her.

Those left to cherish Carol's memory include

her loving husband,
Gerald Pins, Dubuque, IA;

her children,
Tammy (Kevin) Davis, Zwingle, IA
and Diane (Hipolito) Sanchez Jr., Lancaster, MO;

her grandchildren,
Hipolito (Jennifer) Sanchez III, John (Maria) Sanchez, Mike (April) Sanchez, Willie (Angela) Sanchez, Laticia (Samy) Bobongi, Jackie Sanchez, Christopher (Michelle) Davis, Alysa Davis, Eric Davis and Andrew Haidar;

12 great-grandchildren;

and her siblings,
Gerald (Bertha) Wright, Green Bay, WI
and Michelle (Matt) Knopp, Miami, OK.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lynne Haidar; a son, Albert "Butch" Miller Jr.; and a sister, Janet Carrier.

A Carol M. Pins memorial fund has been established, which will be distributed among her favorite charities.
