Condolence & Memory Journal

Jerry was a great friend. I was married for 53 years when I lost my husband. I felt like my life was over. Jerry talked to me about being able to move on, he said you know Charlie would want you to be happy I know my wife didn't want me to be by myself and I was lucky enough to meet Boots.Thank you Jerry. I have met a wonderful man Jim. Rest in peace my friend you taught me to go on living.

So sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. My mother, Betty Deatherage, always spoke so highly of him and the love they shared for each other. He will be missed by her and all the friends in Okeechobee.

How blessed we were to have known both Jerry and Anita, and that they chose Buckhead Ridge, FL to visit and then for Jerry to retire to. He not only became our very close friend he became as an older brother and definitely became as family to us. Jerry shared many stories, experiences and learned advice from them that have made an everlasting impact on us. We have already missed our trips with him since he returned to Iowa, (one we joked of as our "experience", our frequent sharing of social activities and a few adult beverages. Most of all we have already missed his being with us Even our home has memories, visible of his presence as with any family member. He will always be in our hearts, minds and memories. What an awesome, down to earth, honest, straightforward person. He was a special friend and shall be missed deeply. To his family, we share in your loss. To his son Bill, you have served your parents with dignity, pride and respect ~ God Ble!
ss you, they did a superb job of raising and teaching you. Our condolences, Steve and Bonnie Booth

Please accept my deepest condolences for your family's loss. During this difficult time may you be comforted by fond memories and loving words; like those found at Isaiah 57:15.
